Dear Reader:

If you’ve ever read one of my books, then you will immediately notice a difference in my writing style, prose, and genre choice. There’s a reason for that.

About a year ago, I became extremely disappointed due to multiple facets involving my writing. So frustrated, in fact, that I nearly threw in my pens, pencils and notebooks altogether.

Thanks to encouragement from friends and family members, I reconsidered. I did, however, take some time off from writing, reevaluated my approach, put a plan in motion, then started working on it.

You see, I truly LOVE writing and everything that’s involved in it. Creating multi-dimensional characters. Plotting the storyline. Planning the chapter layout. As a writer, I have the capability to create whoever I choose and either make them the good guy or the bad guy. I can give them phenomenal powers or make them a timid weakling. Every aspect about every character I’ve created was all by choice.

But then, I had an epiphany of sorts. I realized that in the years I’ve been writing, having 13 full length novels and numerous short stories under my belt, I’ve been writing what I thought people might want to read, NOT what I was comfortable writing, and certainly not in the style or manner that makes me….well, me. I am Glenda Norwood Petz. And although I love them all, I am not Shirley Jackson. I am not Stephen King. I am not Dean Koontz. I’m me, and that’s who I chose to write like.

Therefore, I changed everything about my writing technique to reflect that then resolved myself to writing what I know. And what do I know? Horror, that’s what. The macabre. Ghost stories. The supernatural. Afterall, I did grow up watching all those old black and white monster movies. Frankenstein. The Wolf Man. Dracula. Phantom of the Opera. Just to name a few. Trust me, there are hundreds more. It’s what I’ve always loved. It’s what I’m most comfortable writing.

Born from all of the above came a new character creation, along with a new series of books.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Marnie Frost, Paranormal Investigator.

What are the Marnie Frost Mysteries?

They are a series of Novellas that center on individual cases worked and chronicled by paranormal investigator, Marnie Frost, who has an unusual skillset of her own that she uses to solve her investigations.

Each installment in the series is a standalone story, meaning that if you choose to read book three or book four first, you won’t have to go back to book one to understand what’s going on.

Every haunting takes place in a different location all over the United States. The first book in the series is titled “The Drowning Hour,” and takes place in the fictional town of Graywater Cove, Maine.

Individual books will include a map of the town, folklore associated with the story, a character profile list, and catalogued artifacts recovered during the investigation. I thought all of this would be fun because these will allow the reader to immerse themselves into each individual story by being familiar with the town, the locals and the roles they play, and the myths associated with each location. Sort of an appendix or reference, if you will.

The Drowning Hour has not been set for publication/release yet, but it should be within the next month or so.

If you’d like to be notified about new or upcoming releases in the series, you can join my email list (link at the top of my home page), and you’ll be the first to be notified about any news related to releases or promotions.

In the meantime, Marnie will be waiting for you at the inn in Graywater Cove.
