The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky opened to the public on July 7, 2016. My husband and I were fortunate enough to visit the following day. Ironically, while inside the Ark, warnings were issued for severe thunderstorms and tornado, and we were put on lockdown while inside and kept there until the warnings were lifted.
It truly is a magnificent sight to see. Imagine this…you’re on the tour bus that takes you from the parking area to the actual ark site. As you cross over the last hill, in the distance, there sits the ark, larger than life that grows even larger the closer you get. You’re in total awe, your heart skips a beat, and your imagination begins to run wild.
Many of the questions that have been asked over the course of time are answered in displays inside the ark. How Noah and his crew cared for the animals. How they used the restroom. How they acquired fresh water.
I devoted an entire page to this so that I could share my photos with you. I hope you enjoy the journey!

Some of you may be thinking, “hey, wait a minute. Why are there dinosaurs on the ark? That’s impossible!” I thought so, too, until I began researching the issue myself and found several helpful articles. I’ll share a couple of them with you, but you really should go read the multitudes of information about this.

The photos I took while there are excellent, but do no justice to the real thing. To see it up close and personal is an amazing adventure.
If you haven’t had the privilege of visiting The Ark Encounter yet, may the day come when your opportunity arrives. You won’t regret it.
